Overview

This article walks you through completing the Consultants & Contractors module in Greenly, from preparing your data collection file to submitting it for analysis and reviewing your results.

Key benefits / use cases

  • Know exactly what mandatory data to gather before starting.

  • Use the Greenly bulk import template to structure your data correctly.

  • Submit your file and let a Greenly analyst finalize the calculations.

  • Access results filtered by archetype, company, or custom tags.

1. Which data should be included in your data collection file?

The aim of this module is to calculate the impact of your company’s waste during the studied year. The temporal scope of the study is the financial year of your GHG Report.
⚠️ To be processed by Greenly, the data provided must be in French 🇫🇷 or English 🇬🇧
You can find your module’s data collection file by clicking on the module > Tab “2. Data collection” > “Bulk import - via template”
🎯 The data collection file contains two type of data: mandatory and optional data

  • Mandatory data: It is the minimum necessary data to calculate the amount of CO2e related to this regulatory entry’s activities → Without it, no emissions can be computed.

  • Optional data: any additional data will increase the quality and granularity of the analysis, and provide you various areas of analysis.
Depending on the type of module, the requested data may differ:

  • Lightweight module
    List of mandatory data:
    - Type
    - Quantity

  • Advanced module
    List of mandatory data:
    - Name / Internal reference
    - Waste Type
    - Treatment type
    - Quantity
    - Unit (mandatory in kg, mt or Short ton (or m3 only for ‘Waste water and sludges’)

List of optional Data:

2. How to upload your data to the Greenly platform?

To upload your data, click on the corresponding task on the Progress page or go to Data > Data Collection > Waste.
1/ Use the Greenly template to upload your data. Click on "Bulk import". The template is downloaded in the same language as the platform. When using it, we ask you to fill the English one with English data and the French one with French data. You can always download the other language on the READ ME page of the template.

Import your data in the section “Upload file”. You can also provide additional files to prove or support the data you’re submitting—for traceability and auditability, in the section “File Information (optional)”. 2/ Once your data uploaded, click on**“Submit for analysis”**. An analyst will review it and complete the module.

3. Frequent errors in data format

  • Lightweight module
Make sure to fill the mandatory columns

  • Advanced module- Column 1: Waste Type

  • Waste type not in the valid values

  • Column 2: Unit

  • Forgot to precise if tons are metric or short

  • Unit in m3, L, or UNIT cannot be calculated or with hypotheses to see with the client.

  • Column 3: Treatment type
