You have probably noticed that your emissions are sorted into categories that are different from the GHG Protocol ones: we call them the Greenly categories. They are based on the French Bilan Carbone® methodology categories (though they don't perfectly match) and represent companies' activities.
Let's see what they include:
🎪 Activities and Events— this category covers emissions generated from organizing, hosting, or attending specific events, such as conferences, trade shows, team offsites, and corporate parties.
🏬 Assets— this category includes emissions generated from purchasing, acquiring or renting capital goods such as buildings, machines and vehicles.
🖥️ Digital— this category covers emissions from an organization's digital infrastructure and services such as IT equipment, data centers, cloud computing services, website hosting, online advertising, and the use of software and online platforms.
⚡ Energy— this category covers emissions from produced or acquired fuel, electricity, steam, heating, and cooling such as gas boilers, heat networks and electricity.
🍿 Food and Drinks— this category includes the cradle-to-gate emissions from the production of all food and beverages purchased by the company.
🚚 Freight— this category accounts for emissions from transportation, distribution and logistics of goods such as air freight, land freight and warehouses.
💸 Investments— this category covers financed emissions, which are the GHG emissions associated with a company's financial investments.
🛍️ Product Purchases— this category includes the cradle-to-gate emissions from the production of all goods and raw materials purchased by the company.
🤝 Services Purchases— this category includes the cradle-to-gate emissions from the production of all services purchased by the company.
🛫 Travel and Commute— this category covers emissions from business travel by employees, such as flights, trains, hotels, rental cars, and employee commuting between their homes and their primary workplace.
🗑️ Waste— this category includes emissions from the disposal, transportation and treatment of waste generated by the company and from sold products.
