This guide covers how to process end-of-life of sold products data, from choosing between the Lightweight and Advanced modules to validating raw data, running the analysis, and importing results via OneSchema.

1. Align with client requirements
Before processing, check whether the client has specific requests (e.g., use of specific emission factors) that may affect the module choice.
Choose the right module based on the client's needs:
Lightweight module (preferred): fully automated from data collection to processing. Use as much as possible to keep the client autonomous.
Advanced module: use when the Lightweight module options are not sufficient — for example, when the client requires access to more specific emission factors.
2. Process the data

The module computes emissions automatically — no manual processing required.
Advanced module (manual processing)
Validate the raw data first Before running the analysis, check that the client correctly followed the dropdown menus in the data collection template and did not enter free-text values where structured inputs were expected.Run the analysis
Use this processing tool — make a copy first, then:
Insert the client's data into the data collection sheet.
Go to the Intermediate Import tab and set the correct country.
Check for rows highlighted in red — these indicate that no emission factor ID could be found, meaning the waste type is incorrect. Go back to the data collection sheet and correct the affected entries.
Check cell C1 and its percentage: this shows what portion of the waste weight couldn't be matched exactly to a Waste Type + Treatment Type combination in the database, and is therefore handled as a proxy. Review this figure with the client if the proxy share is significant.

3. Import data to the platform
With the Lightweight module, data integration is automatic — no further action needed.
For the Advanced module, import data via the OneSchema process in the module on the platform.Before uploading, check your export file for the following:-No negative quantities — these will cause OneSchema errors.
No thousands separators(spaces or commas such as
1, 563, 732.45or1 563 732, 45). To fix: remove spaces used as separators, replace any comma decimal separators with dots, then select the column → "123" in the control panel → "Automatic" format (expected result:1563732.45).After uploading, check the import status at the bottom of the module:

**Common cause of processing errors:** an emission factor ID that no longer exists following a database update. Check with the R&M team for the correct ID. For issues you cannot resolve, create a ticket with the product team. Once corrected, rerun the import process until the status shows "Completed". ---
FAQs
When should I use the Advanced module instead of the Lightweight?
Use the Lightweight module by default — it allows the client to be fully autonomous. Switch to the Advanced module only when the Lightweight options aren't sufficient, for example when the client requires specific emission factors not available in the standard module.
Some rows are highlighted in red in the Intermediate Import tab — what should I do?
Red rows mean no emission factor ID was found for that entry, which typically indicates an incorrect waste type. Go back to the data collection sheet, identify and correct the affected rows, then return to the Intermediate Import tab to verify the issue is resolved.
